Mobile data in Latvia and a Baltic road trip
Latvia is in the EU, with fast mobile networks and very good coverage in Riga. Most visitors combine it with Estonia and Lithuania, so the practical question is whether to buy one plan per country or one for the whole trip.

Will it work on my phone?
On iPhone: Settings → General → About, and scroll to EID. If there is an EID, your phone takes eSIMs. Every iPhone from the XS (2018) onwards does.
On Android: Settings → About phone → Status, and look for EID. If there is an EID, your phone takes eSIMs. Most Galaxy S20, Pixel 3 and later do.
It also has to be carrier-unlocked. If you bought it outright or your contract is over, it almost certainly is.

One plan for Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius
Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania are all in the EU, and many trips cover the three capitals by bus or car. A single-country eSIM stops at the border; the Snoozim Europe eSIM covers all three, so you keep the same plan the whole way. For just Latvia, the country plan is cheaper.
Coverage
Coverage is excellent in Riga, Jūrmala and the other towns, with 5G in the capital, and good along the main roads. In the forests and national parks, such as Gauja, it can be weaker: download offline maps before hiking.
