Will it work on my phone?
On iPhone: Settings → General → About, and scroll to EID. If there is an EID, your phone takes eSIMs. Every iPhone from the XS (2018) onwards does.
On Android: Settings → About phone → Status, and look for EID. If there is an EID, your phone takes eSIMs. Most Galaxy S20, Pixel 3 and later do.
It also has to be carrier-unlocked. If you bought it outright or your contract is over, it almost certainly is.

Crossing to the north

North of the Green Line your phone connects to Turkish networks, and those are outside the EU roaming rule: your operator charges international rates there, and a data eSIM for Cyprus will not work on them either. Near the line, and in parts of Nicosia, the phone can pick up a northern network without you crossing, so pick the network by hand if you want to be sure.

Coverage: coast, Troodos and the beaches
Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos have strong coverage, and so do the motorways and the resort strips. In the Troodos mountains and on some of the wilder coast roads it thins out. The island is small, so a day of driving rarely leaves you offline for long.
