Will it work on my phone?

On iPhone: Settings → General → About, and scroll to EID. If there is an EID, your phone takes eSIMs. Every iPhone from the XS (2018) onwards does.

On Android: Settings → About phone → Status, and look for EID. If there is an EID, your phone takes eSIMs. Most Galaxy S20, Pixel 3 and later do.

It also has to be carrier-unlocked. If you bought it outright or your contract is over, it almost certainly is.

What 4G and 5G change in practice

For maps, messaging, email and social media the difference is small — 4G handles all of it comfortably. 5G shows up on large downloads and when uploading video. If a network here is listed as 4G, nothing you normally do while travelling will feel slower.

How much data a day actually costs you

So how many GB for a week?

Which networks does it use in Spain?

Orange and Movistar, both on 5G. Your phone picks whichever has the better signal and switches on its own, which shows in rural areas and on the coast out of season.

I am coming from the US or Latin America. How much do I save?

It depends heavily on your operator, but intercontinental roaming is usually billed per day or per megabyte at steep rates. A 3 GB pack for 15 days costs 4,29 €, which is often less than a single day of international roaming.

Does it work in the Canaries, the Balearics, Ceuta and Melilla?

Yes. The pack covers all Spanish territory, islands and autonomous cities included, on the same networks.
