Will it work on my phone?

On iPhone: Settings → General → About, and scroll to EID. If there is an EID, your phone takes eSIMs. Every iPhone from the XS (2018) onwards does.

On Android: Settings → About phone → Status, and look for EID. If there is an EID, your phone takes eSIMs. Most Galaxy S20, Pixel 3 and later do.

It also has to be carrier-unlocked. If you bought it outright or your contract is over, it almost certainly is.

No airport, two road borders: when to switch

Andorra has no airport. Almost everyone arrives by road, by car or by bus from Barcelona or Toulouse, through one of two borders: La Seu d'Urgell on the Spanish side or Pas de la Casa on the French side. That makes the moment to switch easy to plan. Install the eSIM at home over wifi from the QR code in your email. Before the border, set it as your data line and turn on data roaming for it, and leave roaming off on your own SIM.

There is a single mobile network in the country, Andorra Telecom's, and your usual line would join it as a roaming customer on the first stretch of road past the border. With roaming off on that line, it stays quiet. The eSIM's days start at its first connection in Andorra. On the way back down to Spain or France, make your own line the data line again.

A shopping day, a ski week or a Pyrenees tour

The 1 GB for 1 day covers a single trip up the valley: shopping in Andorra la Vella or one day on the slopes. If you are staying in La Seu d'Urgell or the Cerdanya and going up on several days, the 1 GB for 7 days fits better, but keep in mind that the seven days run on from the first connection, not only on the days you cross. A ski week in Grandvalira or Pal Arinsal, or a summer walking week in the high valleys, is what the 3 GB for 15 days is for.

If you are arriving from outside Europe and touring Spain or France as well, you need a pack for that part too: the Spain or France pack, alongside this one. For video calls from the hotel or a laptop on the hotspot, check the data calculator first.

Questions

Travelling to Andorra, answered

Does the 33-country Europe pack work in Andorra?

No. Andorra is not one of the 33 countries, so a Europe pack bought for Spain and France stops working when you cross into it. Keep both installed and switch the data line at the border.

Will I get an Andorran number for bookings or the ski school?

No. This eSIM is data only: no number, no calls and no SMS. Calls on your own line in Andorra are billed at your operator's roaming rates, so calling over WhatsApp or a similar app on the eSIM's data avoids that.

I am only going for a day. What makes sense?

The 1 GB day pack is €4.90, roughly half a typical operator day pass. For a weekend the 1 GB pack with 7 days of validity at €6.90 works out better, because a day pass is charged for every day it is active.

Is 1 GB enough for a day in Andorra?

For maps, messaging and some social media, comfortably: normal travel use is around 300 MB a day. If you plan to watch video or tether a laptop, run the calculator first.

Who is behind this

A person, not a call centre

Snoozim is run from Barcelona by Ibai Guirado Vera. It exists because paying for roaming by the day on a short trip made no sense. If something goes wrong with your eSIM you write, and the same person who built this answers you, within 24 hours.
