Will it work on my phone?

On iPhone: Settings → General → About, and scroll to EID. If there is an EID, your phone takes eSIMs. Every iPhone from the XS (2018) onwards does.

On Android: Settings → About phone → Status, and look for EID. If there is an EID, your phone takes eSIMs. Most Galaxy S20, Pixel 3 and later do.

It also has to be carrier-unlocked. If you bought it outright or your contract is over, it almost certainly is.

Coverage

The networks you connect to in Liechtenstein

  • 7acht 4G
  • FL1 5G

Your phone picks whichever of these has the best signal where you are, and switches on its own. Nothing to configure.

Work out my data

Liechtenstein is not in the European Union but it is in the European Economic Area, so EU roaming covers it: on an EU plan your data works with no surcharge. This eSIM is for visitors from further afield. There are two networks and they are not equivalent: FL1 carries 5G and 7acht appears as 4G. It is a country 25 kilometres long, wedged between Switzerland and Austria.

Before you buy

No airport: the way in is through Zurich or Feldkirch

Liechtenstein has no airport of its own. Most visitors fly into Zurich, take the train to Sargans or Buchs on the Swiss side, or to Feldkirch in Austria, and finish with a local bus to Vaduz. A Liechtenstein pack only gives data on FL1 and 7acht, so it does nothing for that transfer: the whole ride from the airport runs on Swiss or Austrian networks. A Switzerland pack stops working at the border just the same.

So decide by where you sleep. If the trip includes nights in Zurich, Lucerne or the Vorarlberg, the 33-country Europe pack below keeps one eSIM working across the three countries. If you only need data once you are here, for meetings in Vaduz or a few days in the valley, the Liechtenstein pack is enough: install it at home, cover the transfer with an offline map, and it starts the moment you are in.

Vaduz for a day, the Liechtenstein Trail for a week

Stays here are short, and the packs on this page fit that. A day in Vaduz with the museums and the walk up towards the castle fits in the 3 GB pack, which stays valid 15 days if you come back. The Liechtenstein Trail is the bigger plan: 75 km through all eleven municipalities, usually walked in five stages, with GPS on all day and photos in the evening. 3 GB still does it if you upload at night on wifi; take 5 GB for 30 days if you share as you go. A ski week in Malbun, or work with a laptop on the hotspot, is where 10 GB makes sense.

With a plan from the EU you are already covered. This is for visitors from further away, and for Swiss residents whose operator counts Liechtenstein as abroad.

Crossing borders?

One pack, 33 countries

The packs above only work in Liechtenstein. For about 2 € more these work across all of Europe — same eSIM, nothing to change at the border.

3 GB Europe · 33 countries · 15 days 6,90 € 2,30 €/GB
Recommended 10 GB Europe · 33 countries · 30 days 15,90 € 1,59 €/GB

Questions

Travelling to Liechtenstein, answered

I live in Switzerland and work in Vaduz a few days a month. Is this worth it?

If your Swiss plan charges for Liechtenstein, yes. The 5 GB pack stays valid 30 days from its first connection here, so one purchase covers a month of visits. Check your tariff first: for your operator this is a separate country.

Do I need to select FL1 or 7acht by hand to avoid Swiss masts?

Not with this eSIM. That advice is for EU plans, which can slip onto a Swiss network across the Rhine and be billed for it. This pack only gives data on FL1 and 7acht and is paid in advance, so a Swiss mast cannot charge you anything: leave network selection on automatic.

I am visiting Liechtenstein from Switzerland. Does this pack work?

Only inside Liechtenstein. Switzerland is a separate country and sits outside the EU, so your European plan does not cover you there either. If you are moving between the two, the 33-country Europe pack includes Switzerland.

How many GB do I need?

It is a short visit in most cases. With maps and messaging, 300 MB a day is plenty, so the smallest pack goes a long way.

Who is behind this

A person, not a call centre

Snoozim is run from Barcelona by Ibai Guirado Vera. It exists because paying for roaming by the day on a short trip made no sense. If something goes wrong with your eSIM you write, and the same person who built this answers you, within 24 hours.
