Will it work on my phone?

On iPhone: Settings → General → About, and scroll to EID. If there is an EID, your phone takes eSIMs. Every iPhone from the XS (2018) onwards does.

On Android: Settings → About phone → Status, and look for EID. If there is an EID, your phone takes eSIMs. Most Galaxy S20, Pixel 3 and later do.

It also has to be carrier-unlocked. If you bought it outright or your contract is over, it almost certainly is.

City guides in United Kingdom

Each one has its own guide: from the airport to the centre, where the signal drops and how much data you need.

Coverage

The networks you connect to in United Kingdom

  • EE 5G
  • 3 4G

Your phone picks whichever of these has the best signal where you are, and switches on its own. Nothing to configure.

Work out my data

Brexit took the UK out of EU roaming, and since then each operator decides for itself. Some Spanish and European operators still include it at no extra cost, others bill it separately — and most of those that include it cut the roaming data allowance far below what you get at home. Worth checking your plan before you fly.

Before you buy

From a London weekend to a Highlands road trip

The 3 GB pack runs for 15 days and suits a long weekend or a week of sightseeing in London: maps, journey planners, messaging and photos. If London is followed by the train north to York or Edinburgh, the 5 GB for 30 days gives a week or two of navigation without counting megabytes. A self-drive loop through the Highlands or along the North Coast 500 keeps the map open all day, often with music streaming in the car, so 10 GB is the safer size. The 20 GB is for a month: a work placement, a language course or working from a laptop over the phone's hotspot, which every pack includes.

Whichever you pick, install it at home over wifi from the QR code we email you. The days only start when the eSIM first connects to a UK network, so a long-haul flight or a layover somewhere else does not eat into them.

Eurostar to Paris or a hop to Dublin: when the Europe pack wins

This pack works inside the United Kingdom and nowhere else. Plenty of UK trips do not stay there: Paris and Brussels are a Eurostar ride from St Pancras, Dublin is a short flight away or a ferry from Holyhead, and many visitors from the US, Canada or Australia use London as the first stop of a longer European tour. In those cases the 33-country Europe pack covers Britain and the next country on one eSIM, with nothing to switch on the train or at the gate.

For a trip that stays in England, Scotland and Wales, the UK pack costs less and is all you need. A mix also works: the UK pack for a fortnight in Britain plus the Ireland pack for a few days in Dublin. Both eSIMs stay installed on the phone and you choose which one carries data.

Crossing borders?

One pack, 33 countries

The packs above only work in United Kingdom. For about 2 € more these work across all of Europe — same eSIM, nothing to change at the border.

3 GB Europe · 33 countries · 15 days 6,90 € 2,30 €/GB
Recommended 10 GB Europe · 33 countries · 30 days 15,90 € 1,59 €/GB

Questions

Travelling to United Kingdom, answered

Is roaming in the UK still free?

It depends on your operator. The UK stopped being covered by the EU regulation after Brexit, so including it is no longer compulsory. Several Spanish operators keep it free voluntarily and others bill it separately. Check your own plan: it is the only way to be sure.

I am flying into Heathrow from outside Europe. When should I install it?

Before you leave, at home and on wifi, using the QR code we send by email. Nothing is used until the eSIM connects to a UK network, so after landing you only set it as your data line and turn on data roaming for it.

Does it work in France or Belgium on the way to London?

No. It only connects in the United Kingdom, so its days do not start until you arrive. For the stretch in France or Belgium use your own plan or the 33-country Europe pack, which covers the UK as well.

Does it cover Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland?

Yes, the pack covers the whole United Kingdom. Note that Ireland is a separate country and is in the EU: for Dublin you need the Ireland pack or the 33-country Europe one.

Who is behind this

A person, not a call centre

Snoozim is run from Barcelona by Ibai Guirado Vera. It exists because paying for roaming by the day on a short trip made no sense. If something goes wrong with your eSIM you write, and the same person who built this answers you, within 24 hours.
