Finland is in the European Union, so if you are travelling from another European country your own plan already covers data. This eSIM is for visitors arriving from outside the EU. There is a single network in the feed here, DNA, on 5G: wherever DNA reaches you have coverage, and there is no second one to fall back on where it does not. In the south that matters little; in Lapland, more.
Do I need an eSIM if I am coming from another EU country?
Probably not. Finland is in the European Union and EU roaming covers your data. It is worth it if you are arriving from outside the EU or your plan has a small allowance.
Which network do I connect to in Finland?
DNA, on 5G. It is the only one available here, so you have coverage wherever DNA does and there is no alternative if it fails.
What about Lapland or watching the northern lights?
In towns and on main roads there is usually signal. Out in open country at night, away from settlements, there are areas with no coverage, and that is down to there being no mast nearby rather than to the card.
I am visiting Finland and also Estonia or Sweden. Does this work?
No, this one covers Finland only. The 33-country Europe pack includes all three, which is the usual choice if you cross the gulf to Tallinn.
